Is this your first time hiring a cleaning service? Here are some frequently asked questions:

Q: What should I expect?

A: You can expect a team of 4 ladies to arrive during the time window you are sent the day before your scheduled cleaning. You are notified again once the ladies are heading your way so you have time to either leave the house or prepare for their arrival. 

Q: What should I do to prepare?

A: Try to declutter as much as possible in the area you want to be cleaned. The more surface available the better the cleaning.

Q: Do you provide the equipment and supplies?

A: No, we bring our fresh cleaning towels, sanitize equipment and supplies to clean your home. If you have a special chemical for a certain area in your home that you use, we prefer you leave it out with instructions.

Q: Do I have to be home?

A: No, we can access your home by any means we agree upon prior to your cleaning. The text message alert with your reserved appointment has the pictures of the ladies that will be cleaning your home.

Q: Is your arrival time accurate?

A: Due to the time-consuming, unpredictable nature of cleaning, Affordable Cleaning Services (ACS) cannot guarantee the exact time of arrival. A window time of arrival will be sent to you a day before for your cleaning. We try our best to be there between that window time frame. If we are running early or late the office will call to notify you immediately. 

Q: How can you access my home if I am not home?

A: Our clients shall grant ACS access to the yard and its surroundings during regular business hours and other mutually agreeable times.  If you have an alarm system, please be sure that it is turned off before we enter your home.  We encourage all our clients to issue us a key.  If you choose not to issue us a key you can leave a key with a neighbor for us to pick up, after which we will return when we have finished our service.  You can also give us the code for the alarm system of your garage door or hide a key in an agreed-upon place.

Q: What should we do with our pets?

A: ACS takes pride in being a pet-friendly service and takes special care in making your pet feel comfortable during our cleaning process.  However, we do need to make sure that our safety is addressed.  If you have aggressive pets, please secure them during our service.  Please make sure, however, that we can still access all necessary rooms in order to do the scheduled work.  We do not clean animal or human feces, urine, vomit or other biohazards. This includes feline litter boxes and dog kennels.

Q: Do you do dishes?

A: We will clean the dishes in the sink if there are a few. A sink full of dishes will be an extra service fee. Please let us know if that is the case prior to our arrival

Q: Do I have to tip?

A: You do not have to. If you choose to give a tip, please give it to the cleaners directly or leave it in a marked envelope labeled tip. Cash is preferred.

Q: How do I pay?

A: Payment is due the day of each scheduled cleaning and must be presented before services are rendered.  There are no exceptions to this policy.  We accept cash, credit cards or checks.  Please make checks payable to Affordable Cleaning Services or ACS.  Please leave cash in an envelope on your kitchen counter clearly marked for Affordable Cleaning Services OR ACS.

Q: Can I cancel my appointment at any time?

A: If, for any reason, you need to change your scheduled appointment, please give us a full 48 hours’ notice.  Once we take a reservation, we hold that time slot open for you and turn away other potential clients in order to ensure your appointment.  In the event of a cancellation of fewer than 48 hours of notice, a cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged. 

Q: How do I terminate my service?

A: Either party may terminate this agreement at any time by giving to the other party three days’ oral or written notice.  Any payment for services owed by the Client shall be due and payable at the time this agreement is terminated.
